Salseras Dance Company was founded in 2001 and consists solely of female dancers. Director of the company is Adriana Mendes, organizer of the Scandinavian Salsa Congress. The group has represented Gothenburg and Sweden many times performing on the congresses all over the world, among others in Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, Paris, UK, Hamburg and Stockholm.
The company has moved from couple dancing to a mix of salsa, jazz, street, samba and rumba, creating a unique style of their own. Most of the dancers have the goal of becoming professional dancers in their respective favorite disciplins. They are all handpicked from Adrianas Danshus by Adriana Mendes and Andrea Ulvenstål, the latter educated at the Gothenburg Balet Academy and member of the company as well as co-choreographer.
